Art and culture help educate our community, spark creativity and give meaning to our lives. Located on the corner of Main and Center, the Midvale Arts Council (MAC) has existed for over 30 years. Midvale City formally established the MAC by resolution in 1985 as a mechanism to promote the arts and rich cultural heritage of the City. The MAC works to create a sense of community pride and hope by showcasing local talent, providing free public concerts and discounted theatrical productions.
The Midvale Arts Council is comprised of many volunteers who donate their time and talents to fulfilling the mission of the MAC, which is to promote the arts in Midvale by sponsoring quality entertainment and by providing opportunities for Midvale citizens of all ages and backgrounds to enrich their lives by experiencing the positive benefits of the arts and local culture. These benefits include an enhanced appreciation of various styles of music and movement, improved artistic abilities, and refined rehearsal and performance skills. Participants will also further develop those attributes and skills that we believe are basic in an arts education: teamwork, self-discipline, self-confidence, respect for others and critical thinking.
In 2018, the Midvale Arts Council will continue to present free Friday night concerts in the Midvale City Park every Friday beginning June 8 through August 3. 2018 will mark the fifth year of sponsoring free family entertainment in the park for the Midvale residents and surrounding communities. The concerts are family friendly and give the community the opportunity to enjoy a variety of free entertainment while enjoying an evening in the park.
Also in 2018, the Midvale Arts Council is pleased to present three theatrical experiences. Nunsense, a Midvale favorite, will be presented March 2-10. The Drowsy Chaperone will hit the stage June 8-16. Lastly, they are pleased to bring back the Missoula Children’s Theatre the week of November 12-17.
